Carol-Shea Porter’s performing ‘Seal’ act

NH Seal actI picked this up from Granite Grok.

Apparently the folks over at NH Insider got keel hauledby the AG for using the official NH State Seal on their web site, which Clueless Carol just happens to have floating behind her name in the header of her “please reelect me” home page.

Of course as the upstanding folks at NH Insider point out, “what makes her so special?”

It’s a very pretty arrangement–it really draws you in.  Just ignore the quotes over her left shoulder.  Oh, and don’t look at her voting record either.  They just happen to be incompatible.

Check it out, get involved.

Contact the NH DOJ and ask them why Shea-Porter is so special.

Or maybe the Governor.  Someone must know.  Right?  I sure as heck can’t figure it out.

Greene Jeanne Thearpy Part II “Have you ‘herd’ this one?”

Green HypeShaheen is one of the herd on the matter of Global warming.

Jeanne Shaheen supports the goal of cutting carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050, and in the US Senate will push for a comprehensive plan to achieve that goal that includes economy-wide emissions reductions, aggressive research and development for new energy technologies, work with international partners to achieve global emissions reductions, and incentives for energy efficiency and clean alternative energy sources.

Isn’t it funny how global CO2 emissions have continued to go up for a decade, while the temperature is actually going down-see here, and here ?  But Green Jeanne Shaheen doesn’t care about what the other side has to say, she just wants to implement her Greene agenda. “Senator” Shaheen would ignore any details that might prohibit her from toeing the party line which at its core is nothing more than a massive government control mechanism on the energy and economic output of America and a system of cap and trade that in Europe has failed to deliver on any of its promises.  Does Jeanne care?  Nope.

Will Lynch Flynch? [Updated]

Feed me Seymore, feed me!Massachusetts will very likely raise its tax on cigarettes by another dollar/pack.  Given that New Hampshire has a problem with its budget balancing act, will the NH Democrat majority see this as an opportunity to  pull the trigger on another increase in our state cigarette tax?

I bet they have itchy fingers.

Leaving things as they are will probably attract a significant number of patrons to the border towns even with the price of gas being what it is.  That increased revenue on the existing tax could be a windfall of it’s own, but Democrats as a rule are bad economists.  Can Gov. Lynch and the lynch mob resist the urge to up the tax just enough to try and pull in even more tax dollars?

We’ll have to keep an eye on it.

[Updated]

Recent figures are available (this courtesy of The Nashua Telegraph) on revenu from New Hampshires last tax increase on smokes…

A 24-cents per pack increase last July 1 didn’t bring in the desired revenue. The tax fell $18 million or 10 percent short of its target
